Business Community Network
The Business Community Network offers events, workshops, drop in consulting, panel discussions, networking opportunities, access to resources and service providers and other entrepreneurial support opportunities offered for the Greater Milwaukee entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Phoenix Rising Academy
The Phoenix Rising Academy provides both consulting and coaching services, with programs designed to increase accountability, clarity, focus, and revenue to optimize business potential. Using proven methods, we also provide customized solutions to fit entrepreneurs’ needs, along with advice and brainstorming to create and implement strong business and marketing plans.
The Academy's vision is to be an inclusive entrepreneur ecosystem within a community of care and collaboration. Its mission is to create pathways that increase opportunities for small business success. Our values are community, empowerment, and service. We partner with the best subject matter experts and offer nationally-recognized curriculum and software to provide unique support to our business community. We validate and include Black entrepreneurs and their unique experiences.
Applications for the Academy will reopen in Fall 2024
Community Business Academy
The Community Business Academy offers our entrepreneurs a 13-week experiential learning opportunity to learn and grow personally and with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs.
Our target entrepreneurs are start-up business owners (1-3 years active) who are innovative thinkers with a clear idea, looking to build community. They are also passionate about their work, actively engaged with the Business Community Network workshops and offerings, are highly motivated to the growth and development of their business, and are able to commit to the 13-week time requirement.
Participants will walk away with an executive summary, elevator pitch and community ecosystem.

The Women and Mom's Entrepreneurship Network (WMEN Accelerator Cohort)
Professional Dimensions partners with the Sherman Phoenix Foundation for the Women and Moms Entrepreneurship Project, committing $100,000. The project is a support hub that provides coaching, funding, and community support for women entrepreneurs in Milwaukee. Through various initiatives like the Phoenix Rising Entrepreneurial Program, including an Entrepreneurial Help Desk, Community Business Academy, and a seed fund, BIPOC women and mom entrepreneurs receive comprehensive support, aiming to empower them, foster self-sufficiency, and challenge societal norms. The initial cohort of business owners will complete the program in June 2024.
gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix
Based out of the Sherman Phoenix Marketplace in Milwaukee, WI, gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix runs year round programming that is free and open to the public, including a one-month Master Class series around building a profession out of your art practice, community programming in the form of workshops, webinars, and artist talks, and one-on-one office hours and mentoring opportunities.
gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix Accelrator
In addition to the public programming, artists are invited to apply for the gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix 7 week accelerator program. Up to 20 artists will receive grants ranging from $1,000 -$10,000 and 7 weeks of individualized mentorship on how to strengthen the business side of their art practice.
Do you have the services needed to help entrepenuers grow their businesses?
Phoenix Rising wants to connect our Risers to qualified and certified professional business service providers. Enrollment is currently close, but we are always looking for interested business service providers who can assist, coach, and expand our entrepreneurs' businesses. Phoenix Rising will help its entrepreneurs pay for your services if your business if selected.
